My ROI was just not good enough with my last effort , i previously had a fairly profitable statistical based analysis that i am going to start using from today. I was using too many points per day last time and was a bit wild with my selections so from now on i have to take it more seriously and be more restrained. Every day i will also give a few fancies , a trainer in focus column , a course specialist column and a jockey/trainer combination to watch and after that my blog bet/bets of the day.If i get 2 possibly fancies in the 1 race i will also have a reverse-forecast column in this instance. So a new start and this seems like a better way to go about things. Trial and error , learn from mistakes!!!
Tuesday 3/6/10
TRAINER IN FOCUS
My trainer in focus vote for today goes to Tim Vaughan , i feel his horses could be worth following today. The stable is on fire at the moment with a 70% win success rate from last 10 races which is 7/10 , quite a brilliant run of form. He has 3 horses running today , The Ferbane Man (Wetherby 7:05) , Totoman (Wetherby 8:10) and Letham Island (Uttoxeter 6:55) and all 3 horses have solid chances , he might well continue his hot streak.
COURSE SPECIALIST
My course specialist vote goes to Paul Nicholls at Newton Abbot who has won the Emma Beginners Chase 2 out of the last 3 years (66% S-R) and runs Classic Swain there today who could well do the business in the 4:30.
JOCKEY/TRAINER COMBINATION TO WATCH
My combination in focus today goes to A P McCoy and Jim Best. When McCoy rides for Best at Uttoxeter he is 2/2 , which is a 100% win strike-rate and is very impressive and definately worth noting. He rides 2 horses today for Best at Uttoxeter , Calzaghe in the 6:55 and Hoar Frost in the 8:00 and both seem to have decent chances. Could be worth following.
TODAYS REVERSE-FORECAST
Seeing that Tim Vaughans Letham Island and Jim Best's Calzaghe have been mentioned on todays column , i feel it might be worth a reverse-forecast between the two as they both seem to have outstanding chances in the race. I will be doing a reverse-forecast on Letham Island/Calzaghe in the 6:55 Uttoxeter.
MY BET FOR TODAY
Just 1 Blog Bet for me today , 1 horse that stands out for me and that runs in the 6:45 Sandown , Invinsible Lad. This horse ran in a Listed race last Saturday at York and was not good enough for the grade , understandably. Today he is now running in a Class 4 which is a huge drop in Class. He has won over todays trip of 5 furlongs 6 times in his career which is a positive. He is running off a mark of 83 today but that is fine as it is the same mark as his last winning mark. When Richard Hughes rides this horse he seems to get a good tune out if it. Hughes is on board today but the most interesting statistic for me today is the when Richard Hughes rides for E J Alston at Sandown he is 2/2 , 100% success rate. Should most definately be in the mix here and i will be having a bet. Alston is also 3/10 at Sandown , a 30% strike-rate with a profit of +6.25 to level stakes.
